If you’ve ever stood at your electrical panel flipping breakers one at a time, then walking back to the kitchen to see whether the outlet went dead, you know how frustrating finding the right circuit breaker can be. It wastes time, and it often means shutting off power to things you didn’t need to touch.
For this review, I tested the Tadeto Circuit Breaker Finder Tool with Outlet Tester in my home to see how well it could identify the correct breaker for an outlet. I plugged the transmitter into a kitchen outlet, walked out to my electrical panel, and used the handheld receiver to locate the matching breaker.
In this Tadeto circuit breaker finder review, I’ll cover what the tool does, its key features, how it worked in my home, the included adapters, the pros and cons, and who I think it’s for.

What Is the Tadeto Circuit Breaker Finder?
The Tadeto Circuit Breaker Finder (model FTCT01) is a two-piece tool: a transmitter that plugs into an outlet and a handheld receiver that you sweep across the breakers in your panel. When the receiver picks up the transmitter’s signal, it tells you which breaker feeds that outlet.
What makes it more than a basic breaker finder is that Tadeto combines three functions in one kit: a circuit breaker finder, an outlet tester, and a GFCI tester. According to the listing, it reads voltage in the 90-135V range and can diagnose six types of wiring faults, including reverse polarity and open circuits.
Key Features
- Circuit breaker finder with transmitter and receiver
- Built-in outlet tester
- GFCI testing capability
- Dual LCD displays, with a backlit screen
- Voltage measurement display (90-135V, per the listing)
- Signal strength indicator on the receiver
- Light socket adapter for lighting circuits
- 3-prong to 2-prong grounding adapter
- Alligator clip adapter (for bare wires only)
- ABS shockproof shell that Tadeto says passed a 2-meter drop test
- Comes with a transmitter, receiver, battery, screwdriver, user manual, and case
How I Used It: Finding My Kitchen Outlet’s Breaker
For my test, I plugged the transmitter into one of my kitchen outlets. Right away, the transmitter’s display gave me information about the outlet itself, so I wasn’t just guessing whether it was wired correctly.
Then I took the handheld receiver out to my breaker panel and ran it along the breakers. The Tadeto Breaker Finder successfully identified the correct breaker, which made the whole process much faster than manually flipping breakers one at a time and checking the outlet afterward.
The LCD Display Makes It Easier
One feature I really appreciate is the LCD display. Instead of relying entirely on beeps or guesswork, you get useful information on screen while you work, including voltage and signal strength. The backlit screen also makes it easier to read in darker spaces like a garage, closet, or utility room where panels usually live.
Testing a Light Fixture Circuit
This tool isn’t limited to standard wall outlets. In the video, I also demonstrate the included light socket adapter. You screw the adapter into a light socket, plug in the transmitter, and then find the breaker for that light fixture. That’s especially useful for lighting circuits, which are often on a different breaker than the outlets in the same room.
Extra Adapters for More Situations
The 3-prong to 2-prong grounding adapter lets you use the transmitter on older two-prong outlets, and the alligator clip accessory works on bare wires. Together they add a lot of flexibility for different home electrical troubleshooting jobs.
Compact and Easy to Store
Another thing I noticed is how compact and easy the tool is to carry. It doesn’t take up much space in a toolbox, and it comes with a case to keep all the pieces together.
Why a Breaker Finder Is Worth Having
If you’re replacing an outlet, installing a light fixture, or labeling an unlabeled panel, you need to know which breaker to shut off. A breaker finder lets you do that without turning off half the house, resetting clocks, or interrupting someone working from home. The added outlet and GFCI testing means you can also check whether an outlet is wired correctly before and after a repair.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, and if you’re not comfortable working around your electrical panel, call a licensed electrician.
