Design: expandable 2kWh you can still move
At 18.8 kg (about 41.4 lb), the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 sits in the same carry-friendly class as other 2kWh Jackery stations, and Jackery calls it the lightest expandable 2kWh system on the market, with a 34% weight reduction and about 21 lb less than the previous generation. The 36.6 × 25.5 × 27.2 cm footprint fits under a desk, on a shelf, or on a car floor when you need to move it to the fridge or the office during an outage.
Jackery’s product page highlights a built-in handle, an LED light, an LCD, four AC outlets with separate AC1/AC2 controls, dual DC8020 solar/car inputs, a 12V car port, USB-A and dual USB-C ports, and a dedicated DC expansion port for Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2 modules. The HomePower 2000 Plus v2 is only compatible with the Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2, per Jackery.
Outputs: what the 2,400W inverter covers
Four AC outlets deliver 120V/60Hz pure sine wave power at up to 2,400W rated and 4,800W surge. Jackery’s buying guide lists 2,400W rated per port at 20A max on the AC side, which covers a wide range of home and RV loads. The 140W USB-C port with AVS (Adaptive Voltage Scaling) is aimed at fast-charging phones, tablets and many laptops in the Apple ecosystem, with a second 30W USB-C and an 18W USB-A for smaller devices. The 12V/10A car port handles fridges and other 12V gear.
| Appliance (typical draw) | Within 2,400W? | Estimated runtime* |
|---|---|---|
| Full-size fridge, about 60W average | Yes | ≈ 29 hr |
| Fridge at Jackery’s 150W example | Yes | Jackery lists 10.0 hr |
| Wi-Fi router, 10W | Yes | Jackery lists 60.0 hr |
| CPAP, 40W (no humidifier) | Yes | ≈ 43 hr |
| Laptop + monitor, 120W | Yes | ≈ 14.5 hr |
| Window AC, 1,000W | Yes | Jackery lists 1.6 hr |
| 1,500W space heater or kettle | Yes | ≈ 1.2 hr |
*Estimates marked ≈ use 2,048Wh × 0.85 usable after inverter losses ÷ load watts. Jackery’s own appliance times (fridge 150W, Wi-Fi 10W, AC 1,000W) are quoted as published. Fridge draw varies with model and room temperature. Jackery also cites about 9.6 hours of “basic home power protection” for a mixed essentials load on the product page.
Quick take: 2,048Wh and 2,400W cover fridge, Wi-Fi, lights and phone/laptop charging for a long outage stretch, and the expansion port is there when you want multi-day capacity without swapping brands.
Charging: wall, solar and alternator options
AC
Jackery’s support FAQ lists an AC charging time of 98 minutes for the HomePower 2000 Plus v2. The buying guide rounds AC fast charging from a wall outlet to about 1.5 hours, and the same guide lists gas-generator charging at about 1.5 hours. App modes include Emergency Charging, Quiet Charging, Battery Saving Mode (15%–85%), timed charging plans and adjustable AC charging speed, so you can favor speed or quieter overnight top-ups.
Solar
Two DC8020 ports accept 16–60V, up to 12A each and 21A / 800W combined. Jackery lists about 3.2 hours to a full charge with 800W of solar in ideal conditions. The ports run in parallel, so Jackery asks for identical panel wattages on both sides; one or two panels work with the included cable, and four identical panels need two SolarSaga adapters. Wall and solar charging can run together. Roof high-voltage solar systems are not supported on this model.
Check panel voltage against that 16–60V window; my solar panel specs guide explains Voc and Vmp, and series vs parallel wiring shows how pairs of panels add up.
Car and alternator
Car charging is supported on the same DC8020 inputs at 11–16V. Jackery’s buying guide also lists DC-DC alternator charging at 600W for about 3.8 hours. Solar and car charging at the same time are not supported, and two car chargers at once are not supported either.
UPS, Priority Routing and home backup
With the unit plugged into the wall and your gear plugged into it, Jackery lists a 10 ms UPS switchover and pass-through charging. In bypass mode Jackery lists 15A max AC output while charging. That makes the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 a natural desk or living-room UPS for routers, computers and fridge-adjacent loads during short outages.
Jackery Priority Routing is the standout home-backup feature: you set which circuits or loads matter most and a battery threshold; when the pack hits that threshold, the system can cut lower-priority loads so fridge, medical gear, Wi-Fi and phone charging keep running longer. Smart Energy Management on the product page is built around that same idea of protecting essentials first.
For a larger HomePower take on multi-day coverage, see my Jackery HomePower 3600 Plus: What Can It Power? guide. If you are still deciding between Explorer-class portables, my Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus vs 3000 Pro comparison covers the older Plus/Pro portable lineup.
HomePower 2000 Plus v2 vs Explorer 2000 v2
Both sit near 2kWh, but they aim at different jobs. The Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 is a self-contained portable (2,042Wh, 2,200W, about 39.5 lb) with no expansion batteries. The HomePower 2000 Plus v2 adds expansion to 12kWh, a higher 2,400W inverter, 800W solar input instead of 400W, a 140W USB-C port, Priority Routing, and a 10 ms UPS (vs 20 ms on the Explorer 2000 v2).
| Spec | HomePower 2000 Plus v2 | Explorer 2000 v2 |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 2,048Wh LiFePO4 | 2,042Wh LiFePO4 |
| AC output | 2,400W / 4,800W surge, 4 outlets | 2,200W / 4,400W surge, 3 outlets |
| Expansion | Up to 12kWh (Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2) | Not expandable |
| Solar input | Up to 800W | Up to 400W |
| USB-C | 140W + 30W | 100W + 30W |
| UPS | 10 ms | 20 ms |
| Cycle life | 6,000 to 70%+ | 4,000 to 70%+ |
| Weight | 18.8 kg (≈41.4 lb) | About 39.5 lb (17.9 kg) |
| Best fit | Home backup that can grow | Light, self-contained portable |
Choose the Explorer 2000 v2 when you want the lightest simple 2kWh grab-and-go pack. Choose the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 when home backup, Priority Routing and future expansion matter more than shaving a couple of pounds.

Care and storage
Jackery lists self-discharge of around 1–3% per month and storage guidance of 0–25°C for a year, 0–45°C for three months, or −20–45°C for one month. Charge and discharge operating range is −10–45°C. Energy Saving Mode is available in the app and helps idle outputs shut down so the pack holds charge between uses. The housing is PC + ABS; Jackery does not list a waterproof/dustproof rating for this model.
