When you run a Starlink Mini in a vehicle, it’s rarely the only thing that needs power. Phones, tablets, and dash cams all want a plug too, and a single 12V socket fills up fast.
This STARGEAR adapter is my go-to Starlink Mini car adapter when I want to power my setup on the go. STARGEAR sent me the STARGEAR 3-in-1 Starlink Mini Car Adapter to review, and I tested it two ways: plugged into a power bank, and plugged into my Jeep’s cigarette lighter port while driving.
In this review, I’ll cover what makes it a 3-in-1 adapter, how it handled the Starlink Mini plus my other devices, the protections, the pros and cons, and who it’s for. Note that this is a different product from the STARGEAR 12V to 30V adapter I reviewed separately. This one adds USB ports.

What Is the STARGEAR 3-in-1 Starlink Mini Car Adapter?
The STARGEAR 3-in-1 Car Adapter (model SG-STG04-W) plugs into a 12V cigarette lighter socket and has a built-in step-up converter that delivers a stable 24V to the Starlink Mini. It also has a USB-C port and a USB-A port, so you can charge other devices from the same socket.
STARGEAR describes a “Starlink-First” power strategy that prioritizes the Starlink Mini when power is shared, so the dish keeps running while your other devices charge.
Key Features
- 12V to 24V step-up converter for Starlink Mini
- 3-in-1 design: Starlink Mini output plus USB-C and USB-A ports
- Adaptive power distribution that prioritizes the Starlink Mini
- Charges other devices at the same time
- Protection against short circuits, over-temperature, and overcurrent, per STARGEAR
- Brass-plated pure copper contacts and a ribbed anti-loose design, per the listing
- Plug-and-play cigarette lighter connection
- Designed for cars, RVs, and off-grid setups
Test 1: Powering It From a Power Bank
The first thing I did was plug the adapter into my power bank to see how it would handle powering the Starlink Mini. It started delivering power right away without any extra setup.
In the video, you can see the Starlink Mini running while the adapter is connected. At the same time, I had my iPad plugged into one of the USB ports, and it powered both devices together without any issues.
Test 2: Driving With It in My Jeep
While driving, I had it connected to my Jeep’s cigarette lighter port. The Starlink Mini kept running, and the adapter also powered my dashcam, which was plugged in at the same time. Everything stayed powered without any interruptions.
I also showed the Starlink’s speed while it was running. The internet was super fast and reliable, and it stayed connected the entire time.
Why the Step-Up Converter Matters
A vehicle socket puts out around 12V, while the Starlink Mini runs on a higher voltage. The built-in step-up design helps deliver consistent power to the Starlink Mini so it doesn’t restart or drop the connection, which is a common frustration with basic cigarette lighter cables.
One Socket, Multiple Devices
The USB-C and USB-A ports mean you can charge other devices while your main setup keeps running from one adapter. In my testing, that meant the Starlink Mini, my iPad, and my dashcam, all from one socket or one power bank.
