Most camping lanterns are bulky, and they only light up a small circle. This one takes a different approach. It folds down to about the size of a phone, and in a few seconds you inflate it into a long light tube that brightens a much bigger area.
BILTRTE sent me its BILTRTE 24″ Inflatable Solar Camping Lantern, and it’s such a cool little lantern to keep around for camping or emergencies. I even used it to charge my AirPods to test the power bank feature, and it worked perfectly.
In this inflatable solar camping lantern review, I’ll go over the design, charging, the light modes, the power bank, the durability, the pros and cons, and who it’s for.

What Is the BILTRTE Inflatable Solar Camping Lantern?
The BILTRTE Inflatable Solar Lantern (model S60) is a collapsible LED light tube. It folds flat, then inflates into a 24-inch tube that gives off 360-degree light. It charges by solar panel or USB-C, has a built-in battery that doubles as a power bank, and has both a hanging ring and magnets.

Compact Design That Inflates in Seconds
I really like how compact it is. Folded down, it’s about the size of a phone, so it’s easy to throw in a backpack, glove box, or emergency bag. In a few seconds you can inflate it into a long light tube. Because the light is spread across the full 24 inches, it brightens a much larger area than a normal camping lantern. It’s perfect for lighting up the inside of a tent or a nighttime campsite.
Two Ways to Charge
You can charge it two ways:
- Solar panel on top, for charging outdoors
- USB-C, for fast charging before you leave home
Once it’s fully charged, you can get up to 12 hours of use, depending on the brightness mode.
Power Bank Test: Charging My AirPods
I used it to charge my AirPods just to test the power bank feature, and it worked perfectly. It’s not going to replace a big power bank, but being able to top up earbuds or a phone in a pinch is great for emergencies.
Light Modes
The light modes are simple. You just tap through the brightness levels, from full brightness down to a softer light: 100%, 60%, and 30%. There’s also an SOS mode for emergencies. Switching between them takes a single press of the button.
Durable and IP66 Waterproof
It’s made of durable TPU and rated IP66 waterproof, so it handles rain, splashes, and rough conditions without an issue.
Hands-Free: Hanging Ring and Magnet
It has a hanging ring and a magnet, so you can:
- Hang it from your tent
- Hook it onto a backpack
- Stick it to a metal surface, like a car hood or RV frame
That makes it handy for hands-free work at night.
Things to Consider Before Buying
- Brightness: The listing rates it at up to 245 lumens. The light is spread out for area lighting, not a long-throw flashlight beam.
- Solar charging speed: The panel on top is small, so it’s best for topping up. Use USB-C for a full charge before your trip.
- Power bank: It’s best for small devices like earbuds, or as a phone backup.
